Founded in 2017, our mission is to develop a strong network of hop producers in the province and to serve as the voice of hops producers in Alberta. Our members play a vital role in developing Alberta’s newest agribusiness and we want to help them identify and act on opportunities.

AHPA activities are supported by a number of committees, all of which are staffed by volunteers who perform various roles as committee members. If you are interesting in joining one of the following committees, please contact us.
As a new association, it is important to have the right bylaws and policies in place to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Bylaws and policies help to ensure continuity in association leadership, programs and services to members. The governance committee is responsible for developing policies, reviewing bylaws and adjusting them if needed.
Hop producers are just getting started in Alberta, and it is critical that we collect and share data that informs consumers on the benefits of Alberta hops. The research committee identifies various research opportunities that showcase the viability of Alberta Hops in both commercial and home based breweries.
Member engagement is critical as we look at growing the number of producers in the province. From education sessions to networking events, the event committee strives to provide members with fun and informative events that capitalize on our member's willingness and passion for growing together.
We have a lot of work to do to prove to our emerging beer industry that Alberta hops is a fit for their brewing needs. The marketing and web committee develops opportunities and tools that showcase Alberta hops to commercial and home-based brewers.
